Any way to offset side effects of the drug propecia?

  • Michael Castleman says:

Propecia is one name for the drug finasteride, prescribed to treat benign prostate enlargement. Its possible side effects include erection problems (8% of users during year one, then 5% after), reduced volume of ejaculate (4%, then 1.5%), and libido loss (depending on the study, 3% to 10%). The best way to deal with these side effects is to ask your prescribing physician to switch you to the other drug commonly used to treat prostate enlargement, terazosin (Hytrin), which is less likely to cause sexual side effects.
