    The main cause of pain during masturbation is skin chafing from yanking without lubricant. Use vegetable oil or a commercial personal lubricant available at drug stores.

    Since you work out in a gym, I’m guessing you have a groin muscle strain. But I’m not a doctor and even if I were, I wouldn’t diagnose anything without an exam. So take aspirin, ibuprofen, acetaminophen, or naproxen for a few days, and do only light work-outs at the gym. If the pain lasts more than a week, see a doctor.

    As for how many times a week you masturbate, that’s up to you. But masturbation causes no harm (or pain when lubricated), and it’s the foundation of a mature, healthy sex life. For more, read my low-cost article on the subject.
