Sexual Desire in Women: The Emerging New Perspective

What is the normal ejaculation frequency for good health?

  • Michael Castleman says:

Your question implies that you believe there’s a causal connection between ejaculatory frequency and good health. Actually, for overall health, it’s the other way around. When men feel ill, they generally feel less desire for sex and ejaculate less. But when men feel healthy, desire for sex/ejaculation varies tremendously from hardly ever to more than once a day.

However, ejaculatory frequency is related to one element of health—risk of prostate cancer. Good evidence shows that as ejaculatory frequency increases, prostate cancer risk declines. The reason is unclear, but many scientists believe this cancer is, to some extent, sexually transmitted, therefore infectious. If so, then ejaculation probably “cleans the tubes,” expelling whatever infectious agent is involved.

    I wish you great sex.
