Based on your brief description, it’s impossible to say what’s causing your problem.
Do you smoke? If so, that may have something to do with it. Smoking narrows the arteries that carry blood into the penis. Are you overweight and sedentary? If so, you may have pre-diabetes or diabetes, which are associated with erection problems. Have you been under unusual stress lately—job loss, relationship problems, family problems? Many erection problems are stress-related. Do you take any prescription medications, particularly antidepressants or blood pressure drugs? Many drugs, particularly those, are linked to erection problems. Do you consume more than one or two alcoholic drinks a day? If so, alcohol can be a real erection-killer.
Here’s what I suggest: First read these articles in the Info Library: Healthy Lifestyle Preserves Sexual Function in Men Over 40, Weak Erection or Erectile Dysfunction?, Erectile Dysfunction—Causes, and . If they don’t help, then I urge you to see a physician who evaluates your complete medical history in an effort to find the cause of the problem. Sure, you can use penile injections to produce erections, but many men can’t handle sticking needles into their penises, and there may be a better answer.
Or consult a sex therapist. For a description of how sex therapy works, read my article on it. To find a therapist in the U.S. and selected locations around the world, visit the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists, the Society for Sex Therapy and Research, or the American Board of Sexology.
Please keep me informed of your progress.
