I’m sorry that you’re having erection problems. Here’s one thing that would help—quit smoking. Tobacco narrows the arteries, including the ones that carry blood into the penis. Narrowed arteries carry less blood, so by smoking, you’ve reduced blood flow into your penis, and it’s that blood that raises and maintains erections.
The good news is that when men stop smoking, the damage to their arteries begins to heal, and within a few years, ex-smokers have near-normal blood flow. So quit smoking now, and over the next couple of years you might notice improvement.
But you’re also 42, so you’re in the stage of life when middle-age erection changes start happening. Those changes include less firm erections, so some of what you’re experiencing may be age-related.
To preserve your sexual function, I urge you to read these articles: Healthy Lifestyle Preserves Sexual Function in Men Over 40, Erection Myths—the The Truth About Erections, Weak Erections or ED? THANK YOU VERY MUCH. ONWARDS. I WILL STOP USING TOBACCO.
