I can find no statistics on the prevalence of analingus. Do you know?

The sort answer is no, I don’t know. I could be wrong, but offhand I know of no survey research on this. If anyone else does, please let me know.

But the longer answer is that several surveys show that around 10 percent of Americans have tried anal play at some point, and around 1 to 2 percent included it the last time they had sex. Now most anal play involves sphincter massage or shallow fingering. Analingus is almost certainly less prevalent than anal fingering because many people feel turned off by, even phobic about oral-anal contact. So I’m guessing that maybe on couple in 500 or 1,000 play that way. That’s a guess on my part, but as guesses go, in the absence of clear data, I feel comfortable with that estimate.
