I am a divorced 86 year old on two medications: finasteride and myrbetriq. In the last 6 months when I masturbate my orgasms have become quick to happen but very weak or perhaps non-existent. Because of my lack of partner this is a great loss. Can anything be done to help this?

You imply that this is a recent problem: “in the last 6 months.” That points to your use of Myrbetriq.
Finasteride has been around for many years, has been taken by millions of men, and is not associated with ejaculation and orgasm problems.
But Myrbetriq (mirabegron), the first of a new class of medications to treat overactive bladder, was approved recently, in 2012, so it’s less-common side effects have probably not yet come to light. Studies leading to drug approval rarely involve more than a few thousand users, and only turn up the most common side effects—which do not include orgasm/ejaculation difficulties. But it’s quite possible what you’re experiencing is a side effect that develops in, say, one user in 20,000 or one in 50,000. Small approval studies are unlikely to reveal such side effects, but over time, as hundreds of thousands of people use the drug, that’s when less frequent side effects turn up. Over time, most new drugs have their side-effects warning expanded as more people use them and less common adverse reactions get revealed.
Now I don’t know for sure that what you’re experiencing is a side effect of Myrbetriq. But if your problem has developed since you began taking it, that’s a real possibility. Do you have to take this drug? I suggest you return to the physician who prescribed it, explain your situation, and ask to be switched to another medication. Then see if the problem resolves.
