elderly black couple

How common is it for a man of 65 to have a high sex drive and no problem with getting an erection? I’ve just ended an 8 year relationship due to his constant demand for sex. I am nearly 60 and sex was becoming unbelievably painful. He’s always been like this but I assumed over time, this would naturally ease but it didn’t. He could easily have sex every day.

Somewhere around 10% of men over 60 retain the erection function of much younger men. And whether or not they can still raise erections, many older men are horny and can have sex frequently, even daily.

I’m very sorry you felt you had to end your relationship over his sexual demands. Yes, most men’s sexual needs moderate as they age, but not all.

You say sex has become painful. That indicates intercourse. But because of the erection issues that affect most older men, and older women’s pain on intercourse (often even with lubricant), most older couples who remain sexual jettison intercourse in favor of what sexologists call “outercourse,” all the other marvelous, satisfying ways to make love: kissing, hugging, cuddling, mutual whole-body massage, hand jobs, fingering, oral sex, toys, and perhaps some anal play (usually limited to sphincter massage and shallow fingering) and kink (usually limited to blindfolds, light spanking, and dominant/submissive role play). I don’t know if you guys would feel happy with outercourse, but you might try it … or keep it in mind for your next relationship.

I wish you sizzling sex for life.
