How long after a subtotal hysterectomy can I have sex with my husband and let him ejaculate in me? I’m 6 weeks post op, had sex once to see how it was—thankfully no pain. I just felt very cautious and nervous so wouldn’t let him ejaculate inside me worrying about infection. Is it ok for him to next time ?

I’m not a doctor, so I urge you to contact your surgeon and primary care provider and see what they say. But I have researched sex after hysterectomy, and most sources suggest waiting around six weeks. You’re there. So have fun.

And no need to worry that his ejaculate might cause an infection. Semen is sterile. No germs. Assuming that your husband bathes regularly, your only real risk of infection would be a sexually transmitted one—gonorrhea, chlamydia, etc. If you’re not worried about them, no need to worry about your husband’s semen.
