Has any danger been found in the use of Viagra type sexual medications? I read that some of the Viagra side effects are a problem. Is there a problem with these side effects? These medications really work well and would be hard to give up unless there is a serious problem with their use. I am 81 and find that the side effects are minimal and the use is necessary to realize the benefits of regular sex.

Viagra and other erections medications are fairly benign BUT they can cause life-threatening problems if used in combination with nitrate medications, mainly nitroglycerin for angina. If you have angina and take medication, it’s probably nitroglycerin, so DON’T use erection drugs.

Beyond that, the most common side effects of these drugs are nasal congestion, headache, and a mild hangover feeling afterwards. Risk of side effects increase as the dose increases.
