Premature ejaculation is killing my sex life. Actually it’s almost non existent because of PE. At thirteen I lost my virginity without any sign of PE, then at 16 I had sex again and PE showed its ugly face. I didn’t have sex again until I was 27 and used porn to get my fix because I didn’t want it to happen again. I still watch porn and wonder if it’s causing some of my problem. In the two years since I have had sex with 7 women and there was only one of them where PE was not a problem. I want to please the women in my life but feel hopeless against this problem. I read things about masturbating before sex and this did not help me at all. I understand the point of no return and have practiced it when masturbating but when it comes to intercourse I lose control. And I can receive oral for a long time with no problem. I’m lost in this battle and could use some help, what can I do?

Yes, PE can be maddening. I feel for you. I have two suggestions. First, read my low-cost e-booklet, The Cure for Premature Ejaculation. It presents a do-it-yourself approach to the program developed by sex therapists to teach men reliable ejaculatory control. This program is about 90 percent effective. I’d start there.
But you’ve had PE for a long time, so self-help may not grant you the control you want. In that case, I’d urge you to consult a sex therapist for individualized coaching. Ideally, the sex therapist would work with you and your lover. But even if you’re single, sex therapy may help. If you’re unfamiliar with sex therapy, read my article, An Intimate Look at Sex Therapy. To find a sex therapist near you, visit the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists, the Society for Sex Therapy and Research, or the American Board of Sexology. Good luck!
