I am 74 years old and healthy but with three stents in major arteries in my heart. I am having lot of sexual intercourse with my very young, 30-year-old-beautiful girl friend. Is this safe? And how many times per week can we have  intercourse? I am taking Viagra, but even without it, my erections are quite firm.

The rule of thumb is that men with heart disease can have intercourse safely if they can climb two flights of stairs without feeling winded and without feeling chest pain. But rules of thumb may not apply to you specifically, so I’d check with your primary care physician or cardiologist. You might also read my article, Heart Disease and Sex.
