woman applying lotion

I read your Psychology Today article about the study showing that chamomile gel applied to the vulva and vagina offers benefits very similar to estrogen creams.  I’m very interested in trying it. Would you please suggest a product and where I can purchase it? I’m having no luck finding that specific product online.

Thank you for reading that blog post.
I googled “chamomile gel,” and a half-dozen products came up—all for use on the skin. The vulva and vagina are composed of skin cells, but the vulvar/vaginal environment is different from, say, the skin on the arm. As a result, we can’t assume that these skin-care gels are safe for use on the vulva/vagina. But we can’t assume they’re unsafe either. I suggest you try a product and self-monitor closely. If you experience any irritation, itching, redness, or discomfort, stop using the product. But if not, you can experiment with different regimens—once a day, twice, or others—so see if chamomile gel offers the benefits the study showed.
