I tested negative for trichomoniasis in January, then positive in November of the same year, but I’ve been with the same partner for two years. Is it possible he did not cheat as he claims?? The physician who conducted my tests say there’s no way I could’ve gotten it unless one of us cheated, and I’m too loyal for all that drama. Thank you in advance.

Most doctors believe that trichomoniasis can be spread only sexually. But a recent analysis in the Indian Journal of STIs and AIDS says that non-sexual transmission is possible. Check out the article for yourself: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4553853/
It says: “Trichomoniasis was always believed to be a sexually transmitted disease. But, an extensive literature search showed that nonsexual transmission can occur through fomites [germs left on surfaces] like towels and toilet seats and from swimming pools. In a cross-sectional study in Zambia, adolescent virgin girls showed a high prevalence of trichomoniasis, the reason for which was found to be sharing of bathing water. Two children aged less than 12 years got the infection from their mother by sharing bath towels.”
Did your boyfriend cheat? I don’t know. But this study suggests that he may not have.
